May 14 Commencement Offers Time of Celebration

Commencement represents a beginning and a time of celebration for UNC Charlotte graduates. College of Liberal Arts & Sciences graduate and undergraduate students, along with family, friends and others, will gather for the college’s 2016 Spring Commencement Ceremony on Saturday, May 14 at 10 a.m. in the Halton Arena, located in the Barnhardt Student Activity Center.

Greetings from the graduating class will be given by Serena Greene. She, along with speakers for two other graduation ceremonies for the university’s other colleges, was chosen as Student Commencement Speakers through a competitive process. These students represent their peers in the graduating class by reflecting on their experiences and dedication on our campus.

All ceremonies will be streamed live over the Internet; the CLAS ceremony will be streamed starting at 10 a.m. at http://livestream.uncc.edu

For those who live in the Charlotte area, a live broadcast of each ceremony will be shown on Time Warner Cable Channel 22 Mecklenburg.

Graduates should report to the main concourse to line up at 9 a.m., and they should bring their student I.D.s to check in.

The college will host a reception for students and their special commencement guests in Student Union 340 G-I, immediately following the commencement ceremony.
