The 5th annual UNC Charlotte Statewide Star Party (part of North Carolina’s annual Statewide Star Party) that originally was scheduled at the UNC Charlotte campus observatory on Friday, April 21, 8:30 – 10 PM has been postponed until next FRIDAY April 28 (8:30 – 10:30 pm) due to cloudy weather forecast.

This is a great event for children and adults who want to learn more about the planets, stars and galaxies that make up our universe. While registration is not required, organizers encourage guests to register so they can better estimate numbers for catering and contact guests directly in case of postponement.

IN THE EVENT OF CLOUDY WEATHER: the event will be POSTPONED. Please check for an email from UNC Charlotte Observatory on the day of the event for updates. Updates will also be posted no later than 5:00 p.m. on the Observatory’s website at https://observatory.uncc.edu/statewide-star-party-2017/, at its Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/UNCCharlotteObservatory and on its twitter account @UNCCObservatory.
